The Trapped Inner Self
Material
oil on canvas
Size
80 × 80 cm
Date
2026
Yellow
Anxiety, unease, foreboding
Green
Jealousy, comparison, the fear of loss
People fear losing what they have not yet lost,
trapped in possibilities they cannot be certain of.
Artistic conception:
When anger and sadness remain unresolved, they may continue to surface as
suspicion, unease, and jealousy. The figure in the painting crosses their arms over
their eyes, as if trying to shut out the outside world, yet unable to escape the thoughts
growing within. Green symbolizes the constraints brought by jealousy, while yellow
reflects anxiety about the unknown. As emotions magnify our inner fears, we may
gradually lose confidence in ourselves, becoming caught in comparison and imagined
possibilities.Moments that seem impossible to escape may be inviting us to
reconsider our relationship with ourselves and the world.
